SANDY BEACH CLOSED – Harbor Dredging Project

October 2015 to February 2016

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be managing the maintenance dredging of portions of the Federal navigation channel in Cohasset Harbor between the dates of October 1, 2015 – January 31, 2016. The work will consist of dredging approximately 62,000 cubic yards of sandy sediment by hydraulic dredge. The dredged material will be pumped via underwater pipeline to Sandy Beach and will be used to beneficially replenish beach areas eroded from recent storms.

Sandy Beach and the parking lot will be closed to all pedestrian traffic until February 1, 2016, or project completion if earlier.

Cohasset Harbor is closed to ALL non commercial traffic until February 1, 2016, or project completion if earlier. This includes canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, dinghies, and all other recreational type boats.

The Parker Ave. boat ramp will be closed starting October 1, 2015 until project completion. If you wish to haul your boat out of the water after this date please contact the Harbormaster in advance for removal of the barricade.
