COHASSET – Police Officer Aaron Bates graduated from the 26-week Recruit Officer Course at the Massachusetts Municipal Police Academy’s Randolph campus on Friday, Oct. 30.

“After months of rigorous training at the academy, we are excited to welcome Officer Bates back to the department” Chief Quigley said.  Bates will be assigned to a Field Training Officer for approximately 10-weeks, and then eventually assigned to a permanent shift.

Bates will fill the shift vacancy in the department that was created when Sergeant Michael Lopes was assigned as a Cohasset School Resource Officer.

Bates is a 2011 graduate of Cohasset High School and worked as a summer police officer for 2-years in Cohasset.
