The Cohasset Police Department’s Animal Control Unit exists to serve the needs of the people and the animals in our community.
Animal Control Officer Brian Willard serves as our regional Animal Control Officer (ACO). He handles calls for service in Cohasset, Norwell, and Hull. ACO Willard falls under the department’s Patrol Division and works closely with the MSPCA, New England Wildlife Center, Animal Rescue League of Boston, and the Cohasset Board of Health, in order to promote and ensure public health and safety. Officer Willard is also a sworn Cohasset Special Police Officer with full police authority.
Officer Willard is tasked with enforcing the animal laws of the Commonwealth and the Town of Cohasset.

- Investigation of animal bites
- Law enforcement
- Rabies control
- Dog licensing enforcement
Nuisance Wildlife:
Nuisance wildlife on private property is the responsibility of the property owner. Licensed Problem Animal Control (PAC) services can be found online and in the telephone book.
